Sintered Nylon

The word "sinter" (sintered) originated in Germany and relates to the English word "cinder." There are many different types of sintering with different forms and states of available powders. The process that we use is a method in which objects are produced from nylon powder heated to below melting point. The object is then heated with a laser until all of its pieces and particles adhere to one another. Another name for this word would be solid stage sintering. Traditionally, this has been a way of manufacturing ceramic objects but has also been viably used with other materials. Rather than sintered, Synergeering uses electron beam melting to produce metal components. We produce components in a vacuum, which prevents any surface contamination and changes in the density, alloying or heat treatment which can change the intended function of a product, so we only use the most advanced metals and plastics to make our prototypes.
